Get To Know The Sonnets Cast #3

Kluane Saunders

Kluane graduated with first class honours from the BA (hon) Acting course at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. She began performing on stage at age 5 and had her professional stage debut in 2003 as Liesel in the Court Theatre’s production of The Sound of Music (Christchurch, New Zealand). In addition to her Acting degree, Kluane’s first stint at University earned her a double degree in Performance Voice (Singing) and a BA (hon) in Chinese Language from Victoria University of Wellington. She has extensive training in jazz, tap, and ballet dance and is proud to think of herself as the triple threat: an actor, singer, and dancer.

Since LASALLE, Kluane has been busy and has split her time between acting (on stage and screen), singing, dancing, hosting, and teaching. On stage you may have seen her as an Angmoh Durian Sister in Toy Factory’s 881, as Jill in Toy Factory’s daring production of Equus, as Lynette in the sell out season of Can’t Stand Up for Falling Down, and most recently as Anna in Pangdemonium’s Spring Awakening. She has had the pleasure of appearing on Singaporean screens in Mediacorp’s Payday and their Chinese drama无花果 (Wuhuaguo) and internationally, with a leading role in Singapore’s contribution to the Venice Biennale 2009, In the Love of Mood directed by Ming Wong.

Kluane also has a passion for writing, directing, and devising, and has written and directed pieces for the Short and Sweet Festival, Singapore 2009 and 2010. She is in the process of planning her own piece to be staged in 2012. Kluane is thrilled to be here in Singapore where she has the opportunity to utilise all her talents and explore her passions.

I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
