"SONNETS FOR AN OLD CENTURY is a dreamscape filled with poignant, funny, lyrical and haunting monologues from recently deceased individuals." - Sonia Borkar
Spread a picnic mat out under the stars and be immersed in the stories of thirty characters who are preparing to cross the ultimate threshold between life and what lies beyond it. Bordering on pure comedy at one time and heart-wrenching emotions at another, audiences will be pleasantly surprised at the variety of life experiences and anecdotes that surface throughout the monologues featured in the play.
Sonnets for an Old Century is the premiere of theatre at the beach. It is proud to be part of the i-AM 2012 Festival, an annual festival conceptualized and organized by the undergraduates of the Arts Management programme in LASALLE College of the Arts. The play is a beautiful piece by award winning writer José Rivera which poses the question “What would your last words be?”
